Anita Fleming

Anita (she/her) is a Registered Psychologist and Founder of Alba Psychology, based in Buderim, on the Sunshine Coast, with 15 years’ experience supporting clients across a range of services.

‘Alba’ is the Scottish Gaelic word for Scotland reflecting the Scottish part of Anita’s heritage. She grew up in Zimbabwe and studied in South Africa, Scotland and Australia. Her life experience across countries increased her passion to ensure that diversity is considered and respected in her therapeutic model. Anita’s practice is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQIA+ inclusive.

Anita provides a safe and non-judgemental space for those individuals who feel like they do not quite fit in and struggle with pervasive feelings of ‘never being good enough’. If you are feeling overwhelmed by worry, fear or uncertainty, you are not alone. Anxiety is a common and understandable response to life’s stressors, but it does not have to control you or your child’s life.

Anita has a special interest in supporting adults who have received late diagnoses of autism. Her goal is to empower you to embrace your neurodiversity, celebrate your unique strengths and navigate the challenges of life with confidence and resilience.

Anita has supported children, young people and adults within early intervention, forensic, disability, community, inpatient and private practice settings. Therefore, she is able to tailor her approach according to individual needs and circumstances. Anita supports NDIS self and plan-managed clients on the Sunshine Coast and offers telehealth support across Australia.
